The shape of each session is guided by what your relative enjoys most. We write a brief note to the family at the end of the day so everyone stays informed.
How is Damaira different from a general domestic helper?
Our focus is on companionship, social engagement, and household coordination rather than domestic tasks. We arrange activities, accompany relatives to community outings, maintain family communication, and help households stay organised. The emphasis is always on the social and personal side of a relative's daily experience.
Can I choose which days sessions take place?
Yes. We work around the household's existing commitments and choose days together during the initial planning conversation. If circumstances change during the arrangement, we ask families to let us know a week in advance so we can adjust without disruption.
How does the Family Coordination service work in practice?
We begin with a planning session — usually about an hour — to understand the household's situation and what would help most. From that we produce a written support plan and a shared family timeline, along with a list of local community resources relevant to your relative. Ongoing coordination keeps everyone updated as things develop.
What kinds of outings and activities are included in the Social Engagement Programme?
We arrange group activities appropriate to the season and local calendar — community centre visits, hobby circles, light recreational outings, and festive gatherings. A companion accompanies your relative to each outing. The monthly calendar is shared with the family in advance and a brief summary is provided at month's end.
Are the pricing figures quoted per session or per month?
The Family Coordination & Information service is a one-time arrangement fee of RM 680. The Social Engagement Programme is RM 2,300 per month and the Daytime Companionship Programme is RM 3,600 per month. We are happy to discuss the scope of each in more detail before you commit to anything.
How do I know what is happening during sessions?
Depending on the programme, families receive either end-of-day session notes or monthly summary reports. These are brief, plain-language updates — not lengthy documents — so a busy family member can read one in a minute and feel confident everything is going well.
